The 2013 Edition of the Karl Miller Memorial Moto-x has just been run by the Mosgiel District Motorcycle Club at Mike Scorgies Lee Stream.
The big winners on the day were Campbell King (senior pro), Conrad White (jnr 125/250cc), Piggy Suzuki (jnr 12-16yrs 85cc) and KOARSEfx rider Regan Turner who won the jnr 8-11yrs 85cc Class.
Campbell, Conrad and Piggy also won there respective Feature races and also each took home trophies for doing the best whip during the feature race. The MDMCC included a Clubmans class this year whitch was well supported had some great racing and was eventually won by Alex LeBrun rollin in a Flannel Shirt.
I managed to finish 4th in the Vets class which was won by Brent Scammell my only real highlight was setting the fastest lap time in the second race. It had been along week for me leading into the Karl Miller as i was in charge of putting the race program together making the karl miller ID Stickers and building the trophies plus i had a more than normal amount of bike graphics to get sorted before the weekend. i had a few long days and didn’t get everything finished untill 2.30am the morning of the race but i think it was all worth it, i knew Karl and this is a great way to keep his memory alive.
The good thing about this event is that Rob (Karl’s father) get’s alot of product prizes so pretty much everyone who goes to the prize giving goes home with a prize
Looking forward to 2014 see you there
